Welcome to Wizard House Montessori School.

Hidden away behind Buttercups Teddington (just like the headquarters of the Order of the Phoenix!) our new Montessori hall awaits to train young learning wizards in the magic of Montessori. 

Our own Dumbledore, Nursery Head Teacher Sam, has 11 years’ of childcare experience and a Level 4 Advanced Management Qualification. Sam has been with Buttercups for 7 years, starting as a Deputy Head in Buttercups Isleworth where she progressed to Nursery Head before taking on her current role. As Nursery Head at Buttercups Teddington, she has overseen an extensive expansion and development of the nursery. Sam is a talented manager who has developed a caring and happy team, dedicated to the well-being and education of the children.

Montessori at Buttercups

At Wizard house , we provide an authentic Montessori education that nurtures your child’s natural curiosity, independence, and love for learning. Designed for children from infancy to six years old, our approach lays a strong foundation for lifelong success, focusing on holistic development - intellectual, social, emotional and physical. 

This dedicated Montessori hall has been specifically designed to meet the needs of our young wizards, with everything at their height, separate areas for different activities and flooded with natural light. 

Our specialist Montessori equipment includes:

- Golden Beads which teach place value and basic mathematical operations;

- Landform Trays which teach children topography (rivers, lakes, mountains etc.);

- Solar System Models to study the movement of the planets;

- Volcano Models to learn about volcanic eruptions and seismic activity, and

- Inside the Human Body models to investigate the workings of our anatomy.

We also have visits from specialists to tell us more about their work, recently we welcomed a cardiologist and an optician.

Qualified Montessori Teachers use focused Montessori sessions enabling children to be independent, confident and curious learners.

Great Facilities

Our preschoolers still get to enjoy all the fabulous facilities in our main building: the Buttercups-themed Soft Play Room, the dedicated Art Room, the Dance Studio with music and multicoloured lights and of course our huge garden filled with toys and natural resources.

At Wizard House our passionate and experienced Montessori educators are specially trained to guide children through this important stage of development. Our qualified Montessori teachers are committed to fostering a nurturing and inspiring learning environment where every child is valued and supported.

Safety and well-being

We have CCTV throughout the nursery and all our staff have an enhanced DBS check and First Aid training. Healthy meals are cooked freshly everyday by our own cook, who can cater for all dietary requirements. And we have recently been awarded a Food Hygiene Rating of 5.
