Sam is a talented manager who has developed a caring and happy team, dedicated to the well-being of the children.
Great Facilities
Buttercups Teddington is a homely nursery with bright, colourful play rooms. Our large garden is packed with toys, natural resources, activities and things to explore. So whether it is a forest school inspired session or some physical development, your little one will always have something to enjoy. Our nursery has been been extensively renovated and enlarged to incorporate lots of new play rooms.
Soft Play Room
Our bespoke soft play room was designed especially for the nursery. It has two levels with a cosy den at the bottom and the children are surrounded by the friendly faces of the Buttercups bugs and Buttercup the cow on the walls. The space doubles as a sensory room which is particularly beneficial to our babies, with colour-changing lights and buttons for the children to press for animal noises. Its stairs, tunnels and slides make it a great place for children to develop their gross motor skills.
Art Room
Our light-filled art room is filled with materials to develop our children's creativity. In this dedicated space they can learn new skills and techniques and be inspired by famous artists every week.
Dance Studio
The dance studio is a large indoor room, perfect for our yoga sessions and Bend and Stretch activities. Our children can choose their own music with our child-friendly music system which makes it a great place for nursery parties. Even when the weather is bad, our children can skill keep active!
Our Montessori Approach
Montessori runs through everything we do at Buttercups. From the very beginning, our babies are introduced to Montessori toys and equipment, stimulating learning by encouraging children to experiment. Our dedicated Montessori classrooms have been specifically designed to meet the needs of our children, with everything at their height, separate areas for different activities and flooded with natural light. Within them, our Qualified Montessori Teachers use focussed Montessori sessions to give children the best start possible. Our Montessori practices enable children to be independent, confident and curious learners. Read more about Montessori at Buttercups
Child-centred Care
The under 2s have dedicated playrooms with a quiet, calm feel and a separate sleep room. For the 2-3 year olds we have rooms filled with specialised play equipment. This sturdy furniture is made from wood and other natural materials and encourages children to learn through play.
Our 3-5 year olds have a fabulous building all to themselves - Wizard House is our new Montessori hall. Preschoolers enjoy supervised use of ICT equipment, engage in critical thinking activities such as science experiments and work on their early mathematical and literacy skills daily through fun, child-interest led activities. In this way our dedicated teachers prepare our children for their move to big school.
Great Team
Our long-standing, caring team members receive ongoing training, both on and off-site. This nurturing and development continues throughout their time with us, inspiring the level of care and education your child receives. All children are allocated a key-person when they start, someone who is committed to their well-being. We have a gentle settling-in process as we know that some children find it harder to adjust than others.
Safety and well-being
We have CCTV throughout the nursery and all our staff have an enhanced DBS check and First Aid training. Healthy meals are cooked freshly everyday by our own cook, who can cater for all dietary requirements. And we have recently been awarded a Food Hygiene Rating of 5.
