Welcome to Buttercups

Buttercups is a family-run group of nurseries that has been providing outstanding care to children for over 40 years. Our award-winning settings in Acton, Ealing, Chiswick, Brentford, Isleworth, Teddington and Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire are all individually and personally managed. At Buttercups, we see every child as a one-of-a-kind little explorer. We fuel their natural curiosity and give them the brightest, happiest start to their learning journey.

Outstanding Childcare

We are recognised by parents as the 'childcare provider of choice' for children aged 3 months to 5 years. Every Ofsted inspection we have had has been Good or better. Currently, 75% of our nurseries are thrilled to have been graded 'Outstanding' by OFSTED. Parents place their children in our care, comfortable in the knowledge that they are in a secure and caring learning environment.

Success - the Buttercups Philosophy

The success of Buttercups is founded upon a fundamental commitment to quality education combined with fun – and plenty of time outdoors. Our philosophy is:

Quality Education – child-led learning incorporating Montessori and HighScope approaches;

Fun – a huge range of activities and specialist clubs including languages, sports and cookery clubs;

Time outdoors – our fantastic nursery gardens give children plenty of time outdoors and include Forest School activities.

At the end of their time with us, Buttercups children leave with confidence, curiosity and a zest for learning.

Buttercups isn’t just a nursery — it’s the start of a wonderful adventure.

Let’s grow together!

National Apprenticeship Week

As Nursery Head at Buttercups Chalfont Park, I find it incredibly rewarding to support and work alongside our Early Years Apprentices. Our wonderful Apprentices bring enthusiasm, curiosity and a genuine passion for learning that positively enriches our nursery environment. Watching them grow in confidence, develop their skills and apply theory into meaningful practice with the children is immensely fulfilling. Their fresh perspectives, dedication and commitment not only support our team but also enhance the quality of care and education we provide. Being part of their professional journey and helping the shape the next generation of Early Years practitioners is a privilege and a source of great pride.

This week, we are taking part in National Apprenticeship Week #NAW26, taking time out to say thank you to our apprentices for working so hard and thank you to our wider teams for supporting them.

We are so proud of all of our apprentices who are studying hard to gain qualifications at the same time as getting valuable nursery experience.

Congratulations Miss Ellie

A huge well done to Ellie from Buttercups Isleworth for passing the Early Years Practitioner Lead Level 5 course - we are so proud of you!

At Buttercups we encourage all of our team members to continue to develop their learning. As well as running acclaimed internal courses we support external learning with time-off for lectures. We believe that investing in our people ultimately pays huge dividends for our little learners.
