Welcome to Buttercups Teddington. This, our newest nursery is conveniently positioned on Teddington High Street and provides a cosy, home-from-home environment.
Our Nursery Head, Sam, has 8 years’ of childcare experience and a Level 4 Advanced Management Qualification. Sam is passionate about childcare and really enjoys watching the children develop and learn.
Buttercups Teddington is a homely nursery with bright, colourful play rooms. Our large garden is packed with toys, natural resources, activities and things to explore. So whether it is a forest school inspired session or some physical development, your little one will always have something to enjoy.
Soft Play Room, Art Room and Dance Studio
Our nursery has been been extensively renovated and enlarged to incorporate lots of new play rooms. The children particularly enjoy the new Dance Studio for indoor exercise sessions, the dedicated art room and the fabulous soft play room. Even when the weather is bad, our children can still keep active!
Our Montessori Approach
Our dedicated Montessori classroom for preschool has been specifically designed to meet the needs of our children, with everything at their height, separate areas for different activities and flooded with natural light. Within it, our Qualified Montessori Teachers use focussed Montessori sessions to give children the best start possible. But Montessori practices are also incorporated at younger ages, enabling children to be independent, confident and curious learners.
The under 2s have dedicated playrooms with a quiet, calm feel. For the 2-3 year olds we have rooms filled with specialised play equipment. This sturdy furniture is made from wood and other natural materials and encourages children to learn through play. Our 3-5 year olds have supervised use of ICT equipment, engage in critical thinking activities such as science experiments and work on their early mathematical and literacy skills daily through fun, child-interest led activities. In this way our dedicated teachers prepare our children for their move to big school.
Our qualified, caring team receive ongoing training, both on and off-site. This nurturing and development continues throughout their time with us, inspiring the level of care and education your child receives. All children are allocated a key-person when they start, someone who is committed to their well-being. We have a gentle settling-in process as we know that some children find it harder to adjust than others.
Safety and well-being
We have CCTV throughout the nursery and all our staff have an enhanced DBS check and First Aid training. Healthy meals are cooked freshly everyday by our own cook, who can cater for all dietary requirements. And we have recently been awarded a Food Hygiene Rating of 5.
We have a strict policy on all hygiene. The nursery is cleaned every evening, laundry is done daily and all toys are sanitized weekly. Our baby room has a “no shoes” policy to keep the floors clean for our crawlers and all staff are instructed in the use of antibacterial spray and hand washing routines. We also carry out constant risk assessments of equipment and toys to ensure their safety and that they are in tip-top condition for playing.
