Welcome to Buttercups Chiswick Lane. Based in bustling Chiswick, our nursery offers an oasis of calm. We are all about enjoying the outdoors with our large garden and Forest School.

This nursery was awarded ‘Good with Outstanding elements’ in its most recent Ofsted inspection.

Our Senior Nursery Heads, Toni and Sara, have been working for Buttercups for over 20 years. They are constantly looking for new ways to develop the team and the nursery and believe in building fantastic partnerships with parents.

Great Facilities

The nursery is housed in an alpine-style lodge, nestling in Homefields Recreation Ground. The large free-flow playroom gives children lots of space to explore and play and opens onto our garden filled with fun equipment. As this is a very active nursery we take children from the age of 2 years up.

Montessori

At Chiswick Lane we have a revolutionary approach for our 3-5 year olds. Half the day is spent enjoying child-led learning in the dedicated Montessori classroom, filled with specialist Montessori equipment. Our Montessori teachers guide children in their chosen activities, resulting in focused, independent little learners. 

Forest School

The other half of the day is spent enjoying the freedom of Forest School. Our mini forest is completely enclosed within the nursery grounds giving children the freedom to explore, to climb and to create their outdoor world.
Qualified Forest School Leaders show the children how to safely use tools, building their fine motor skills, their confidence and teaching them how to manage risk. They also guide the children in lots of activities such as building dens or water channels which promote physical development and problem solving. The children are taught all about the plants and wildlife around them giving them a respect and understanding of nature. And, of course, they get plenty of fresh air!​ The beauty of our Forest School at Chiswick Lane though, is that the nursery building is close at hand meaning that we can easily retreat to safety if the weather becomes too bad and the children can enjoy hot, freshly cooked meals even whilst they're outdoors. 

Great Team

Our qualified, caring team receive ongoing training, both on and off-site. This nurturing and development continues throughout their time with us, inspiring the level of care and education your child receives. All children are allocated a key-person when they start, someone who is committed to their well-being. We have a gentle settling-in process as we know that some children find it harder to adjust than others.
