Welcome to Buttercups

Buttercups is a family-run group of nurseries that has been providing outstanding care to children for over 40 years. Our award-winning settings in Acton, Ealing, Chiswick, Brentford, Isleworth, Teddington and Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire are all individually and personally managed. At Buttercups we see each child as a unique little learner. We nurture their natural curiosity, ensuring they have the best start possible.

Outstanding Childcare

We are recognised by parents as the childcare provider of choice for children aged 3 months to 5 years. Every Ofsted inspection we have had has been Good or better. Currently, 75% of our nurseries are thrilled to have been graded 'Outstanding' by OFSTED. Parents place their children in our care feeling comfortable, happy, confident and relaxed knowing they are in a secure, loving and learning environment.

Success - the Buttercups Philosophy

The success of Buttercups is founded upon a fundamental commitment to quality education combined with fun – and plenty of time outdoors. Our philosophy is:

Quality Education – child-led learning incorporating Montessori and HighScope approaches;

Fun – a huge range of activities and specialist clubs including languages, sports and cookery clubs;

Time outdoors – our fantastic nursery gardens give children plenty of time outdoors and include Forest School activities.

At the end of their time with us, Buttercups children leave with confidence, curiosity and a zest for learning.

Easter Eggs for Local Hospice

A big thank you to parents and the team at Buttercups Ealing for donating Easter Eggs for Meadow House Hospice in Ealing. Jade, our Baby Room Head, organised the collection as a way of thanking the hospice for the care they had shown to her parents before they passed away. Sharing some love at Easter!

New 15 Hours Funding for 2 year olds

The government have announced that there will be new funding available from April 2024 for 2 year olds. If you are working at least 16 hours per week but earning less than £100,000 a year you may be eligible for 15 free hours per week, during term-time. To find out more and to register visit the government's website

As term-time is 38 weeks per year, at Buttercups we stretch this over the 51 weeks we are open. This equates to 11.8 free hours per week. Parents will need to pay for any additional hours they use and we request a minimum attendance of 2 days per week.

The details of the new funding are still being finalised, but we anticipate offering this to all existing parents. For new parents who do not wish to take additional hours, we will only be able to offer funding of 10 hours per week for the 51 weeks. This is usually offered on a Monday or a Friday and places are limited so please email us for availability. There may also be food charges as the funding does not cover food costs.
